State Putative Father Registries

What is the Putative Father Registry?

The Putative Father Registry is in 33 out of 50 states and each state carries a different criteria. Until paternity is established a man is classified as a “putative father”, in other words, a possible father. For single men who have, or are about to, father children, requires that they be notified in the event the child is put up for adoption or if their rights are being terminated. The law assumes men aren’t interested in their children. Let’s be proactive, register, and prove them wrong.

  1. My Son is 20 years old, living in California. His ex just left to Virginia, claims she’s pregnant by him and is due in Feb.2018. She filed a restraining order against him, naming me also to stop contact with us. She plans to continue her pregnancy in Virginia. We are curious about our rights as the Paternal side of the family. The hearing for the petition for restraining order is 8/11/17. We plan to dispute it as unfounded. Can my Son register as a putative Father from out of state?

  2. My name is Karen Harris of Philadelphia pa. I am reaching out to you to tell my family story. My brother is incarcerated in Philadelphia his twins was taken from Philadelphia to Georgia without his Knowledge and permission . They stated the children mother surrender her rights. Philadelphia pa DHS had an open case for neglect and abuse as 3/12/2020 and has been looking for the children. They did not know not locate the children. My family learned 4/27/2020 a family in Georgia has the children and looking to adopt.

What interesting was I spoke to interstate commissioner and she told me after further review Pa has jurisdiction and could not understand how the children got to Georgia.
My family has actively been looking for children. My brother has been deny a lawyer and no lawyer is willing to help me. Please help me tell my family story.
